Important information for students who will do their SP this summer:
- You can conduct your summer internships between June 22 – September 25 in Summer 2026 (available time is ~3 months).
- IE300 summer internships must be done by physically attending the work place. Similarly, IE400, which is conducted in a manufacturing company, must be attended in person (face-to-face). If it is in a service company, it can be either face-to-face or hybrid (face-to-face + online).
- Minimum duration of your internship is 20 workdays (4 weeks) which needs to be in consecutive days. But if the company request it, the duration can be extended.
- Please take the official holidays (i.e. 15 Temmuz, 30 Agustos) into account when scheduling your internship days.
- Our university provides insurance for the mandatory internships. Please visit “SGK Insurance Applications” tab for the insurance applications.
- Detailed information about voluntary internships is available under the “Voluntary Internships” tab.
- For IE 400, project based internships are allowed. Project based internship should be at least 6 weeks. Before the internship, you need to submit a proposal to the SP Committee which covers the content of the internship in detail. If the proposal is approved you can do the project based internship.
- Internships in public institutions: All public institutions in Turkey (kamu kurumlari) accept internship applications through a centralized system. Please consult this page for further information.
- Within the Erasmus program, it is possible to do an internship within the scope of Student Internship mobility. You may generally prefer an internship in Europe for a minimum of 3 months and a maximum of 12 months. For detailed information, please check the Erasmus office website. If the summer internships completed within the scope of this program are made for a short term (3 months), it can only be counted as one of IE300 and IE400 internship.
- Summer internship contracts: If you need your SP work contract (staj sözlesmesi) to be signed, please leave it to the Undergraduate Secretary Office, IE 129 and get it back in one week.
- Instructions for Paid Summer Practices: If you did your SP in a private company in Turkey and you received payment during your SP, please visit the “SGK Insurance Applications” and follow the instructions under the section “Instructions for Paid Summer Practices” as soon as you finish your SP and you have received all of your payments.
